Maldives tourist arrivals close to pre-tsunami level

According to the Ministry of Toursism and Civil Aviation the tourist arrival to the Maldives has increased significantly bringing the figure close to the pre-tsunami level. In a letter distributed to all the resorts Ministry stated "We are delighted at the significant increase in the tourist arrivals bringing the figure close to the pre-tsunami level. We, threrfore, wish to thank you for your tireless work to make it all happen! Clearly, the results reflect the strong spirit of cooperation that exists between the industry and the Government in the efforts towards full recovery. "

Majority of Maldives resorts are currently fully booked and expect the peak season to continue till early May with its current pace.
