Underwater Dining Experience in Hilton Maldives

While it is not unusual to find a large fish tank in a restaurant, it is less usual to find a restaurant within a fish tank!
Strange as it seems, this odd idea has been brought to life in the Maldives where the world's first aquarium-style undersea restaurant has been constructed at the Hilton resort on the island. Ithaca, which literally translated means 'pearl', will lie six metres below the Indian Ocean an will offer diners 180-degree panoramic underwater views. The restaurant will be surrounded by a coral reef teeming with sea-life and the organisers plan to stage regular feedings to attract some of the area's larger animals, such as sting-rays and sharks, to the reef. The first of its kind, the restaurant seats only 14 people, and thus provides one of the most exclusive and extraordinary dining experiences in the world.
